OFFICIAL RULES:

1. To qualify for competition in the Hawk Mountain Papers Print Contest, the entry print must be printed on one of Hawk Mountain Paper’s products.

2. Must be trimmed the following sizes - including margins: 8"x10", 11"x14", 16"x20". Entries not meeting the size requirements will be disqualified.

3. Must be sent unframed, unmatted. All displayed prints will be affixed to adhesive foam core for display by Hawk Mountain Papers.

4. Each print must be accompanied by a completed official entry form which can be printed Print Contest Entry Form.pdf

5. Applicants agree that any entered print may be exhibited by Hawk Mountain Papers at Trade Shows and Exhibits. All entries remain property of HMP and will not be returned unless prior arrangements are made with HMP. HMP will not sell or reproduce the entries in any way. Model releases must be available for all recognizable individuals in submitted photos. Do not submit these releases unless requested.

6. All prints must have the name and address of the entrant on the back of the print. Entrants are requested not to identify their prints on the front. Entries will not be disqualified if so identified,

but the names will be covered during the print judging procedures.

7. Entry prints will be judged for artistry, craftsmanship, detail, content and print quality that best represents Hawk Mountain Paper products. The decision of the judges is final. Judges will be chosen from the fields of art, printmaking, and photography.

8. Rules for this contest may be changed or modified without notice.

9. Hawk Mountain Papers is not liable for any damage to the entries incurred during shipping or handling.

10. IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATIONS: Any entry received not measuring in final trimmed size detailed in Rule 2 above. Any entry received without a completed entry form.

Jim Davis of www.artreproservices.com and one of Hawk Mountain Papers' main judges, has the following suggestions for you to consider when choosing your print for entry into our print contest:

Subject Matter: Is it unique and interesting? Our categories are as follows: Wedding, Portrait, Nude, Wildlife/Animals, Landscape/ Seascape/Floral, Artwork, (reproduction or computer generated).

Composition: Does it flow well? Is it a snapshot or a work of art. Is the artist experienced? Is the image well thought through?

Presentation: Is is the correct size, (8x10, 11x14, 16x20)? Sorry, no exceptions this year. Is the color correct? Is the image clean, (no scan lines or noise)?

Winners and selected prints will be exhibited at PhotoPlus Expo 2007. Prints may also be exhibited at PMA, Imaging USA/PPA, Wedding & Portrait Photographers Intl/WPPI, Regional PPA Shows. Full acknowledgement will be given to the photographer/artist of all exhibited prints.
